Nothing sounds worse than that rock hitting your windshield—except for watching the chip spread into a crack. You might think an expensive windshield replacement is your only option, but with Chip Pro, you get affordable rock chip and crack repair. Chip Pro is a good fit if:
Why does Chip Pro fix long cracks when so many windshield repair shops say they can’t fix anything bigger than a dollar bill?
Most auto glass shops do rock chip repairs and windshield replacements, and they make a lot more money replacing a windshield than they do repairing it.
We’re not saying every other auto glass shop is scamming you into a replacement. But there is no industry standard for fixing cracks—the dollar bill claim is unfounded.
We wanted to offer a more affordable and safer alternative for those who don’t want windshield replacement. Our tools—the highest quality repair materials on the market—are designed to fix cracks over 12 inches long.
Some damage does require a windshield replacement, such as if the crack goes from one edge of the windshield to another, or if the crack is old and dirt has contaminated the glass layers. We can help you find a trusted repair shop if this is the case.
Does the chip or crack go through both layers of glass (can you feel the crack on the inside of the car)?
Does the crack go from one edge to any other edge of the windshield?
Is the crack at the very bottom of the windshield, below the wiper blades?
If you answered NO, it’s time to schedule a windshield repair before the damage gets worse and requires an expensive replacement! When you take care of chips and cracks quickly, you prevent further damage caused by road vibrations, temperature changes, or debris.
If you answered YES to any of these, you'll likely need a replacement. Give us a call and we will confirm and help you set up an appointment with one of our trusted replacement partners!
We can fix rock chips about the size of a quarter and cracks over 12 inches long. If it's larger than that, give us a call and we will let you know for sure if it is something we can tackle!
Absolutely! If a chip spreads into a crack that cannot be fixed, you could end up with a $300-$2000 windshield replacement bill. Instead, you could get windshield repair for $0 with comprehensive insurance or $79 out-of-pocket with a 5-year warranty.
If you go through your comprehensive/full coverage insurance, it will result in no cost to you! Utah passed a law stating that no-fault glass claims (windshield repairs) won't raise your monthly premiums.
If you do not have insurance or don't want to go through your insurance, Chip Pro's windshield repairs start at $79, out the door (this includes tax). That price includes the mobile service and three chips (not cracks). After the third chip, it is $15 for each additional repair.
Yes! If any chip or crack we service spreads beyond repair, we provide a full refund.
Each rock chip takes about 10-20 minutes to repair. A crack can take 45-75 minutes.
As long as your car is unlocked, the windshield is a serviceable temperature and we have the appropriate insurance information, you're free to go inside or leave us to do the job.
In Utah, rock chips are a "no-fault" claim, which means your comprehensive insurance should cover rock chip repair. If you want to be certain, you can call your insurance's glass claim number, which you can find online, the back of your insurance card, or using the link at the bottom of this FAQ.
When you call your insurance about your coverage or to file your claim, you may hear something like: "We work with certain preferred shops as part of our glass repair program, such as [insert network partner like Safelite or LYNX]. However, you're free to choose any shop you'd like."
It's important to remember that you are not required to use the insurance's preferred vendors. You have the right to choose the repair shop that best fits your needs.
If you decide to work with a shop outside of their preferred network (like Chip Pro), your insurance will still cover the cost of repairs under your comprehensive policy, and you won’t need to pay anything out of pocket if you're fully covered. Just make sure you ask about the shop’s warranty policies, as they can vary.

As a general rule, no. "An insurance company can't jack up your premium because of any claim where you are not at fault" (KSL News, September 2023). Rock chips fall under no-fault glass claims. Please call your insurer with any questions or concerns.

Some will look like they've disappeared, but not all do. However, it will look significantly better and most importantly, will not spread!
The repair will hold for life! Less than 2% of our repairs fail, meaning the damage spreads beyond repair and you have to replace your windshield. In that case, we don't charge anything for the chip repair. If you have already paid for the repair, we will refund you in full.
The resins we use restore the windshield to "pre-loss condition." When cured, the resins are 100+% of glass strength! Most other shops' resins can only restore to 85% at best.
We come to you! Just pick a location that works for you, whether it's your house, work parking lot, a grocery store, park, or any public place. The best part? Zero travel fees.
