A rock chip repair is a rock chip repair, right?
Unfortunately, no.
Most rock chip repairs are just "repairs," meaning, they don't really fix your windshield and they won't last forever.
When windshields are made, they have to pass a series of tests to prove their strength. If a windshield repair is supposed to repair your windshield, shouldn't it be as strong as new?
We think so and that is the difference between a repair and a structural restoration.
The materials we use are the only ones currently on the market that will restore your windshield to 100%+ the strength of new glass. Most shops use repair materials that max out at 79% but can be as low as 50% (this includes national chains)!
Does the chip or crack go through both layers of glass (can you feel the crack on the inside of the car)?
Is the crack at the very bottom of the windshield, staying near or below the wiper blades?
If you answered NO, it’s time to schedule a windshield repair before the damage gets worse and requires an expensive replacement! When you take care of chips and cracks quickly, you prevent further damage caused by road vibrations, temperature changes, or debris.

We can fix rock chips the size of a quarter and cracks over 12 inches long. If it's larger than that, give us a call and we will let you know for sure if it is something we can tackle!
Some will look like they've disappeared, but not all do. However, it will look significantly better and most importantly, will not spread!
The repair will hold for life! Less than 0.9% of our repairs fail, meaning the damage spreads beyond repair and you have to replace your windshield. In that case, we don't charge anything for the chip repair. If you have already paid for the repair, we will refund you in full.
The resins we use restore the windshield to "pre-loss condition." When cured, the resins are 100%+ the strength of new glass! Most other shops' resins can only restore to 80% at best.
Yes! If any chip or crack we service spreads beyond repair, we provide a full refund.
If you go through your comprehensive/full coverage insurance, it will result in no cost to you! With most comprehensive insurance plans, your deductible is waived for repairs (not replacements). You can choose any glass shop to do the repair (Utah Code § 31A-26-303)
As a general rule, filing a glass claim will not cause your rates to go up. "An insurance company can't jack up your premium because of any claim where you are not at fault" (KSL News, September 2023). Rock chips fall under no-fault glass claims (Utah Code §31A-19a-212).
If you do not have insurance or don't want to go through your insurance, Chip Pro's windshield repairs start at $79 plus tax. That price includes the mobile service. It is $19 for each additional repair.
Each rock chip takes about 10-20 minutes to repair. A crack can take 45-75 minutes.
As long as your car is unlocked, the windshield is a serviceable temperature and we have the appropriate insurance information, you're free to go inside or leave us to do the job.
In Utah, rock chips are a "no-fault" claim, which means your comprehensive insurance should cover rock chip repair. If you want to be certain, you can call your insurance's glass claim number, which you can find online, the back of your insurance card, or using the link at the bottom of this FAQ.

If you decide to work with a shop outside of their preferred network (like Chip Pro), your insurance will still cover the cost of repairs under your comprehensive policy, and you won’t need to pay anything out of pocket if you're fully covered. Just make sure you ask about the shop’s warranty policies, as they can vary.
