At Chip Pro Autoglass, we use Ultra Bond, a professionally developed windshield repair system designed to restore damaged glass to its pre-loss structural condition, with laboratory testing demonstrating restoration of pre-loss strength under specified conditions.
We take pride in our work and stand behind it with a 5-Year Limited Windshield Repair Warranty on qualifying rock chip and long crack repairs.
What's Covered?
Our warranty covers defects in our repair materials and workmanship for five years from the original date of service.
- Rock Chip Repairs: All qualifying rock chip repairs are covered for five years.
- Long Crack Repairs: Approved long crack repairs up to 24 inches are covered for five years.
What Happens if a Repair Fails?
If the original repaired damage spreads or otherwise fails due to a covered defect in our materials or workmanship, we'll evaluate the damage and provide the applicable warranty remedy.
- If the repair can be corrected: We'll perform a corrective repair at no additional charge when safely and technically feasible.
- If the repair cannot be corrected: We'll provide the applicable refund or billing adjustment based on the original payment arrangement.
For customer-paid repairs, we'll refund the amount paid for the affected repair, adjusted for any insurance reimbursement received.
For insurance-paid repairs, any applicable financial remedy or billing adjustment will be handled according to insurer requirements and applicable law.
Risks of Windshield Repair & Replacement Costs
Windshield repair involves working with glass that is already damaged. Although we use professional materials and proven techniques, existing damage may spread during or after repair, even when the work is performed correctly.
No windshield repair can guarantee that existing damage will never spread or that the windshield will never require replacement.
Our warranty covers qualifying defects in our materials and workmanship. It does not guarantee the future condition of the entire windshield.
Windshield replacement, insurance deductibles, installation, recalibration, and related expenses are not covered by this limited repair warranty.
If damage spreads during an attempted repair and we cannot successfully complete the repair, you will not be charged for that unsuccessful repair.
These limitations apply to the maximum extent permitted by law and do not exclude liability that cannot legally be waived.
Will My Repair Be Invisible?
Not necessarily. Windshield repair is primarily a structural restoration process, not a cosmetic one.
While repairs often improve the appearance of damage, some evidence of the original chip or crack will usually remain visible.
Visible damage remaining after repair does not, by itself, indicate a repair failure. Cosmetic appearance is not covered by this warranty.
What's Not Covered?
Our warranty applies exclusively to qualifying repairs performed by Chip Pro, not the entire windshield.
The following are excluded:
- New impacts: Damage caused by subsequent rocks, road debris, or other impacts.
- Unrelated cracking: Cracks originating independently of the original repaired area.
- External damage: Damage caused by accidents, vandalism, improper glass installation, vehicle-body issues, or abnormal mechanical stress unrelated to our workmanship.
- Pre-existing conditions: Windshield defects or damage unrelated to our repair.
- Cosmetic appearance: Visible crack lines, impact marks, optical distortion, or other cosmetic imperfections.
- Third-party workmanship: Repairs, materials, or modifications performed by another provider.
- Replacement expenses: Windshield replacement, insurance deductibles, installation, recalibration, towing, rental vehicles, and related expenses, to the extent permitted by law.
Cracking in or near a repaired area does not automatically establish a covered warranty failure. Coverage depends on the cause of the failure.
Windshield repair restores strength to the damaged area by filling chips or cracks with specialized resin. Unlike windshield replacement, the process does not involve removing, lifting, or repositioning the glass.
Our repair process does not disturb the factory windshield seal, remove moldings, or use suction cups to pull on the glass.
Windshield repair does not alter the windshield's installation or watertight seal. Issues such as water leaks, wind noise, or seal failure are not covered by our repair warranty.
What About Damage Previously Repaired by Another Company?
Chip Pro may be able to correct or improve windshield damage previously repaired by another provider.
Our warranty covers only the specific areas repaired by Chip Pro using our materials and methods.
We do not warrant repairs, materials, or workmanship performed by other providers.
If a crack spreads from a portion of the damage previously repaired by another provider, or from any area not repaired by Chip Pro, that failure is not covered by our warranty.
Our five-year warranty applies exclusively to qualifying failures of the work we actually perform.
What About Cracks Longer Than 24 Inches?
Cracks exceeding 24 inches fall outside our standard repair eligibility requirements, and windshield replacement is recommended.
In limited circumstances, we may agree to attempt a repair after evaluating the damage and obtaining additional written authorization.
These repairs are excluded from our standard five-year warranty unless separate written coverage is expressly provided.
Does the Warranty Apply if I Used Insurance?
Yes. Our five-year warranty applies to qualifying repairs regardless of whether you paid out of pocket or used insurance.
If a covered repair cannot be corrected, financial remedies will be handled according to the original payment arrangement, applicable insurance requirements, and law.
Customers who receive insurance reimbursement after initially paying out of pocket must disclose that reimbursement before requesting a warranty refund.
Our warranty does not guarantee insurance coverage, reimbursement, or payment toward windshield replacement.
How Do I Submit a Warranty Claim?
If you notice an issue with a previous repair, please contact us within three (3) days of discovering the issue, or as soon as reasonably possible.
1. Contact Chip Pro with your name and approximate service date.
2. Provide clear photos of the affected area.
3. Allow us to inspect the damage and determine warranty eligibility.
Chip Pro may require an in-person inspection before approving a warranty claim.
Please allow us a reasonable opportunity to inspect the damage before another provider performs additional work, except when immediate action is necessary for safety.
Approved corrective repairs are performed within our normal service area, subject to technician availability and suitable working conditions.
Additional Warranty Terms
Warranty Period: Five years from the original service date. Corrective repairs do not restart or extend the warranty period.
Eligibility: Coverage applies to qualifying windshield repairs performed and documented by Chip Pro Autoglass.
Ownership: Coverage applies to the original customer while they own or lease the serviced vehicle. The warranty is not transferable.
Warranty Determination: Chip Pro will reasonably evaluate the damage, repair history, and available evidence to determine whether a failure qualifies for coverage.
Warranty Remedies: Covered failures qualify for corrective repair when feasible or the applicable refund or billing adjustment described in this warranty.
Other Services: This warranty does not cover windshield replacement, windshield protection film, protective coatings, scratch removal, headlight restoration, or other services unless expressly included in a separate written warranty.
Legal Rights: This warranty does not limit rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded under applicable law.
